KINTSUGI 金継ぎ is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, using a mix of laquer and powdered gold, silver or platinum. Also known as 'the art of precious scars', it is a way of celebrating imperfections. Broken objects are not to be hidden but put back together and displayed with pride.

This collection, gilded in gold and silver leaves and metalic threads,  comes as a reminder that us humans are sometimes alike broken pottery. And after difficult and confusing times, such as this pandemic, we might feel in pieces and scarred.

I hope this collection inspires you and makes you realize that sometimes it's the negative experiences that can make us more positive afterwards and the scars can make us more beautiful, unique and precious.

This is also the 1st ever NITA SAO collection without a photo shoot...

No matter how many creative ideas were written in my notebook, the desire to pack the collection up and travel the world with it was stronger!

So here's what we have so far: flying in a hot air ballon over the Valley of the Kings in Luxor...sailing away on a felucca on the Nile in Aswan...watching the fabulous sunrise in Hurghada...having a picnic with best friends at sunset, in Balchik...having breakfast next to the hot waterfalls of Ma'In...breathing in the salty air on the shores of the Dead Sea...soaking up all of Jordan's history, walking around Jerash...

I hope your wings were unclipped as well and you're free to start travelling again...and if do so with one of the pieces from this collection, make sure to send a postcard!

To be continued...
